Was I interesting enough?

"People don't have short attention spans. They have short interest spans. If they're interested, they'll give you their full attention."

Jason Fried

The next time you don't get a reply to your message, here's one question to ask. Was what I sent interesting enough?

(Of course, it's far from the only reason why you might not have got a reply, but it's certainly worth thinking about.)

If you're going to follow up because you haven't got a reply, bonus points for asking "how can I make this more interesting than last time?"

One way to make it more interesting is to make it more valuable and attractive to whoever might be on the receiving end.

The same applies to your next webinar, sales call, or social media post. In fact, any place where you're trying to engage someone.
